Leiden University, through the Boerhaave Foundation, has a limited number of unfurnished apartments available for PhD students and a large number of interested PhD students.

Please fill in the application form Boerhaave Foundation. If you prefer an apartment at the Anatomy building, please do not create an account at the website from DUWO. Please apply through this website. The SCIS will upload your information one month before your preferred start date into the system from DUWO, partner of Leiden University, where you are able to select your housing of preference. The process of booking an apartment to signing your contract lies with DUWO. The administration for all other Boerhaave locations is done by the SCIS.
Housing through the Boerhaave Foundation is always unfurnished and you will be able to sign a campus contract, linked to the duration of your PhD research. The minimum contract period is one year. You can rent the apartments from the Boerhaave Foundation for the entire duration of your PhD research and after your dissertation, you will get an additional period of maximum 6 months to find alternative housing and move out.
If you expect to arrive in Leiden shortly, we can offer you completely furnished short stay housing. The rent prices for short stay housing vary from 615 - 1100 euro per month for single or double studio apartments. In order to apply for short stay housing please contact SCIS
